Stef Snow Hooping in Highland Park

Stef has a sweet new video of hooping in the snow on YouTube.  If you've been snow hooping, too, please send us pictures or video!

We had to skip Hoop Tuesday last week because of the snow, and I CAN'T WAIT to get moving again tomorrow night.  If you are tired of getting all your exercise from hauling snow, come hula hoop with us at the Union Project tomorrow night.

sNOw Hoop Tuesday

Hello Winter.   There will be no hooping at the Union Project this week, on account o' the SNOW.   If we get another lovely sunny day like today, though, and if I'm not too busy digging out, maybe we could orchestrate a snow hooping session outside somewhere.  Anybody up for it?  Or maybe since nobody can go anywhere we can all just hoop in our own front yards and post pictures?

Hey Hoopers! Don't forget! Steel City Hoop Union will be on WQED tonight as a featured segment (for real this time!)! So grab your hoop and remote and tune in 'round 7:30pm!

Steel City Hoop Union wants to give a HUGE hOOpin' holler to all of you who came and hooped it up for Haiti on Tuesday! Special thanks to everyone who brought food and all those gorgeous silent auction items. And thanks to Gwen for the Zumba lesson, too! We raised $429 for Brother's Brother Foundation to go toward Haiti earthquake relief. O, and HOW FUN WAS THAT?!

And yes! We're hooping next Tuesday, and every Tuesday, at 6:30 pm at the Union Project. Remember you can keep track of us on facebook and on blogspot -- just google "Steel City Hoop Union" and you'll find us!

Hoop for Haiti Tonight!

Hello friends and neighbors,

Steel City Hoop Union invites you to come "Hoop for Haiti" at the Union Project TONIGHT, Tuesday, January 26th, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please join us as we seek to raise money for this beautiful nation in their hour of turmoil. All levels, ages, and sizes are heartily welcome to participate in this hula hoop jam as we host a Haitian celebration. We will be hooping to the tune of Haitian grooves. Hoops and Haitian refreshments will be available. One hundred percent of your $10 donation will go to Brother's Brother Foundation (http://www.brothersbrother.org/); please pay what you can.

Even if you don't want to hoop, please come enjoy the food and music, and place a bid in the silent auction. Auction items include a handmade hula hoop, handmade totes made of coffee bean bags, and jewelry made by local artists.

A little update

Yes!  We are hooping tonight, and every Tuesday, at the Union Project from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.  The Union Project is at the corner of Stanton and Negley Ave.  We've got hoops to share.  

Watch for news about an important event next week.  Stef will be back, and she's got big plans.

Also, the spot about our hoop jams on OnQ! Magazine last week was rightly postponed due to coverage of the earthquake in Haiti.  The hooping segment is now scheduled for January 28.  Meanwhile, all our thoughts are with the people in Haiti.
